| | I have painted for many years and now live on the southcoast of NZ. I find the wide open spaces, colours and wild wild weather of Southland and Stewart Island inspiring. I creating artworks in various media including drawings, photos, digital collages and paintings in acrylics and oils. Work done in recent years concentrated on 'Southern Icons'. Now I am working in a more abstract way trying to evoke movement and how we experience the wind and its effects on the sea, landscape, plants, animals, and people.
I have not decided on a title yet, perhaps something like 'Capture the wind', I will decide on that as the work evolves.
I have been described as an environmental artist as I strive to embody in my work a sense of awe and respect for the environment and to invite reflections on our relationship to it. |
