| | I love New Zealand! I spent my childhood in Northland and moved to West Auckland when I was 11 with my family. I always loved landscape but I really began to have a greater love and respect for it when I started surfing. I spend a great deal of time surfing at the west coast beaches and traveling around the country on surf trips. I studied at Unitec and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Visual Communications - Painting. After I graduated I traveled through Europe and it gave me a whole new appreciation of how much I love New Zealand. I came back with a great passion for our country and reflect this through my paintings. For me making art is about showing how much I love New Zealand and how greatfull I am to have been born here and lived here my whole life. |
